As soon as they met in Paris in 1986, Andrée Chedid followed closely the translations in English of her writings by Judy Pfau Cochran. There was a friendship that was to last until the departure of Andrée Chedid in February 2011 to the shores of Elsewhere, which had always fascinated her. On the trails of my Fancy was born in Cairo in 1943 under the pseudonym A. Lake, "lake" tying the initials of the couple Louis and Andrée Chedid. This introductory book On the Paths of the Imaginary, translated under the title proposed by the author, can be read as the springboard of his poetic journey, She developed throughout her prominent career. The enlightening preface of J. Cochran allows us to understand how this first collection reveals the poetic, philosophical and human resonances of the sensibility of the great poet that his work was to illustrate.
